FAQ

What is a podiatrist?

Podiatrists are experts in foot, ankle and lower limb health.  They can help prevent, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions including ingrown toenails, heel and arch pain, skin problems, balance issues and sprains.  They can also treat foot problems that arise from underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and arthritis.

Do I need a referral?

If you are a private patient you DO NOT need a referral letter to be treated by our podiatrists. However if you are on an Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan you will need a written referral from your GP.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your private health fund card to claim your rebates,  your medicare card (if you have a medicare referral from your doctor), and any other relevant referrals.

Depending on the nature of your foot condition, you may need to bring along some items to the consultation.  For example, if you have a past history of foot/ankle pain and have had x-rays, orthotic devices or medical reports that describe your condition, these will all be of benefit to your treating podiatrist.

  • Referral letter and / or medical reports
  • Private health fund card
  • Medicare Card
  • Previous orthotics / insoles
  • X-rays, ultrasounds, CT and MRI scans
  • Old footwear that may have specific wear patterns
  • A selection of your regular footwear
  • Appropriate clothing for foot and lower limb assessment

How much does it cost to see a podiatrist at Strictly Feet?

A 30 minute consultation at the Strictly Feet Podiatry Clinic costs $65. A home visit from our podiatrist costs $80.

How can I pay for my appointment?

We request that your fee is paid at the time of the consultation. We accept payment by MasterCard, Visa or cash on the day and have EFTPOS and HICAPS facilities.

Can I claim from Medicare?

What are the parking and public transport options?

Parking is available immediately outside the clinic.
